For this project, BES designed and fabricated customized flat lock panels. The panels were made from zinc, a unique lifetime metal that allows patina to form without corrosion. We installed the panels in a staggered bond pattern to give the building a pleasing architectural aesthetic appeal while reducing water infiltration.
This long-standing project required extensive planning by BES to install large amounts of metal wall panels. BES managed the schedule of shipments to arrive in correlation to when the builders would be ready for our crew to install. After close communication with the general contractor and attentive project management, the work resulted in an efficient and timely completion.
This project consisted of work that offered a challenge that BES readily welcomed. Our work did not involve new construction, but instead we worked around already existing substrates. This was a commercial renovation that repurposed the office building for Los Alamos Public Schools. We collaborated with the general contractor and architect to give the building its new look with the installation of metal wall panels by the entry canopy and front of the building.
